When Call of Duty: Vanguard launches next week, it’ll do so with a brand new map for the incredibly popular Warzone mode. Ahead of that, Activision has detailed some of the upcoming changes to the mode.

In a new post over on the PlayStation Blog, Daniel Noel — writer for Activision — teased some of what to expect when Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Season One releases on November 5, the same day the game releases. While there will be new content coming to the campaign and the usual updates to multiplayer and the Zombies mode, the biggest piece of news comes in the new Call of Duty Warzone map.
Dubbed Caldera, the new map is filled with lush forests, rocky mountains, and a dormant volcano towering over the land. The new map features over 200+ points of interest and is roughly the same size as Verdansk, the map that Warzone has been using since its launch. Alongside the new map, new modes, Vanguard Royale, and Vanguard Plunder will also arrive in Warzone when the map does.
Caldera will become playable for Vanguard owners on December 2, 2021, at 9 a.m. PT, and will launch for all players on December 3, 2021, at 9 a.m. PT. To celebrate the launch, a “Secrets of the Pacific” event will kick off on November 24, 2021, in Warzone. Players will be able to take part in the limited-time event simply by playing the game and can learn more about the map by discovering pieces of information hidden on Verdansk.

Besides the new Warzone map, Activision also revealed that Shipment, the fan-favorite Call of Duty map, will make its way into Vanguard on November 17. The map will be a re-fitted map to match the World War II aesthetic of Vanguard and will be free for all players. A brand new Battle Pass will also be available starting on December 2, allowing players to earn new gear, blueprints, and other content across both Vanguard and Warzone.
