When Axiom Verge launched in 2015, it quickly became one of the most beloved and talked about independent games of the generation. Tom Happ is back again, with Axiom Verge 2 set to launch this summer and land on PlayStation consoles.
The 2D pixel art Metroidvania title took the gaming world by storm in 2015, with its incredible art style and multitude of weaponry and places to explore making it a smash hit. In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Happ spoke about how the folks at Sony were so instrumental in getting the word out about the first game, he felt that he owed it to them to bring the sequel to both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
According to Happ, Axiom Verge 2 will launch on PlayStation 4 day one, but a PS5 version of the game may be coming a bit later, as Happ said he’s hoping to take advantage of the system’s ability to give players in-game hints.
At the moment, no official release date has been announced, but Happ did say that the game would be ready sometime this summer. In the meantime, fans can head over to the PlayStation Blog to check out some development updates and brief clips of the game running.
