Back 4 Blood Characters and Zombie Types Revealed in Trailer & Posters

The spiritual successor to the beloved Left 4 Dead is just a few months away. Back 4 Blood brings back cooperative zombie killing to consoles and PC this October. As such, Turtle Rock Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment give us a rundown of all the characters and zombie types you’ll encounter during the apocalypse.

In Back 4 Blood, the brave people who decide to hunt zombies are known as “cleaners.” These will be the characters you will choose from, each with their own strengths. There are a total of eight cleaners shown in the trailer, which you can view below.

The zombies in Back 4 Blood are known as “The Ridden.” The trailer shows four different types of The Ridden, each with its own unique set of challenges when facing them. The Breaker is very large with giant fists it can use to smash your team. The Ogre is an even larger zombie that sends “meatballs” hurdling towards the cleaners. Snitchers will let out a scream, sending a horde of infected with it. Lastly, the Hag has weird glowy growths on its back and will eat cleaners whole. The video also teases other types of Ridden.

Back 4 Blood is scheduled to release on October 12 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Pre-ordering the game will earn you Fort Hope Elite weapon skins for the M4 Carbine, Uzi SMG, S70 Shotgun, and RPK LMG.
