On Saturday, officially dubbed Batman Day, the teases began to roll in. Ahead of tomorrow’s State of Play video from Sony’s PlayStation, Warner Bros. Games Montreal has been further teasing what surely seems like a brand new Batman video game.
Captioned with “Capture the Knight,” the video features a series of symbols morphing into one with a dragon’s head. Rumors have circulated for years that a new Batman video game was in the works featuring the villainous “Court of Owls,” given this other symbol in the video however the game could also feature Ra’s al Ghul’s League of Assassins. Perhaps the new game will be pitting a variety of criminal empires against Batman with the Court of Owls and League of Assassins among the enemies he’ll go up against. Check back here tomorrow for Sony’s State of Play kicking off at 4 PM ET where we should officially learn more!
The Batman “Arkham” series has been dormant since 2015’s Batman: Arkham Knight, the “final chapter” in the trilogy from Rocksteady Games. Warner Bros. Games Montreal released 2013’s Batman: Arkham Origins, a prequel to the Asylum/City storyline featuring a younger Batman. It’s possible that the new game would be set after Origins and before Asylum, giving them plenty of ground to play with including the death of Ra’s al Ghul as hinted at in Asylum (where his body can be seen).
