Cyberpunk 2077 will feature multiplayer

Cyberpunk 2077 Will Feature Multiplayer Gameplay Options

The upcoming, and highly anticipated game, Cyberpunk 2077 will offer players some options after its expected launch in April next year.

In a post on Twitter, CD Projekt Red, the studio behind the game, teased that after the game’s set to launch, a multiplayer function will be added. They also clarified that they’re working on the multiplayer function now, and even encouraged people to apply to the company to help them meet their deadline.

A follow-up tweet also clarified that the plan is to push out the single-player option, then some free(!) DLCs, then go straight into multiplayer from there.

Set in the fictional world of Night City, California in the year 2077, the world is broken, while MegaCorps manage every aspect of life from the top floors of their sky-scraping fortresses. The in-between is where decadence, sex and pop culture mix with violent crime, extreme poverty and the unattainable promise of the American Dream.

The game will be also be a narrative-driven, open-world RPG set in the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of Night City. You play as V, a hired gun on the rise, who just got their first serious contract. In a world of cyber-enhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set in the same universe as Mike Pondsmith’s classic pen & paper RPG system, Cyberpunk 2020. You can get your hands on a copy starting in April of next year.
