First Look at Claire Denis’ English Movie Debut High Life

Fans of acclaimed French cinema filmmaker Claire Denis finally have something to chew on regarding her upcoming English-language movie debut High Life.

Here we see a rather somber close-up of lead actor Robert Pattinson (The Twilight Saga) looking spaced out and lost in thought underneath a clear glass astronaut helmet. It’s easy to understand, given that Pattinson plays the role of one convict among many trading in their jail time by agreeing to crew a dangerous mission to a black hole.

The movie also stars Mia Goth (A Cure for Wellness, The Survivalist) and Academy Award winner Juliette Binoche (The English Patient, Certified Copy).

Rounding out the cast are André Benjamin (Jimi: All is by My Side, American Crime), Lars Eidinger (Clouds of Sils Maria, Personal Shopper), Agata Buzek (Redemption, The Reverse), Ewan Mitchell (The Last Kingdom, The Halcyon), Jessie Ross (The Frankenstein Chronicles), and Claire Tran (Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, Lucy).

Writing credits go to Claire Denis, Jean-Pol Fargeau, Geoff Cox and Nick Laird. The movie is produced by Laurence Clerc, Oliver Dungey, Christoph Friedel, Andrew Lauren, DJ Gugenheim, Claudia Steffen, Olivier Thery-Lapiney and Klaudia Smeija. Production companies handling the film are Andrew Lauren Productions, Apocalypse Films, Alcatraz Films, Pandora Filmproduktion and Madants.
