Trolls 2 Gets a New Release Date from DreamWorks and Universal

DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures gives Trolls 2 a new release date

Can’t stop the feeling! DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures have announced that Trolls 2, featuring the voices of Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake, is moving from February 14, 2020, to Friday, April 17, 2020, taking the place of a previously-dated Untitled Universal Event Film. The original date had Trolls 2 premiering opposite an Untitled DC Film and Nimona. Now the film is, at least for now, alone on the new release date.

Can’t stop the feeling as the colorful, wondrous Trolls return for Trolls 2, the follow-up to 2016’s breakout global hit about how far you’ll go for happiness…and how far you’ll go to get it back. Anna Kendrick (Pitch PerfectInto the Woods) and Justin Timberlake (Wonder WheelThe Social Network) reprise their roles as the eternal optimist Poppy and the curmudgeon Branch in the new musical comedy-adventure from the creators of Shrek. Walt Dohrn (TrollsSpongeBob SquarePants) is set to return to direct the animated film, and Gina Shay will once again produce.

Trolls was directed by Mike Mitchell and Walt Dohrm, from a script by Erica Rivinoja. The film, which earned $340 million worldwide, also features the voices of Russell Brand (Arthur, Forgetting Sarah Marshall), James Corden (The Late Late Show with James CordonGavin and Stacey), Kunal Nayyar (The Big Bang Theory, Ice Age: Continental Drift), Ron Funches (Get Hard, Undatable), Icona Pop, Gwen Stefani, Zooey Deschanel (The New Girl, (500) Days of Summer), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (How to Train Your Dragon, Superbad), Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent, Arrested Development), Christine Baranski (Birdcage, The Good Wife), Quvenzhané Wallis (12 Years a Slave, Beasts of the Southern Wild) and John Cleese (A Fish Called Wanda, Monty Python Live).
