DC Kids Camp: DC Launches Online At-Home Activity Program

According to The Hollywood Reporter, DC has launched an at-home activity program called DC Kids Camp. The program was curated by creators behind DC’s middle grade and YA graphic novels through DC’s social media channels to help parents self-quarantining with their kids at home.

Videos are scheduled to post at 10 a.m. PT on the @dccomicskids Twitter account and @dckids Instagram accounts. The videos will begin with Wednesday’s “Make a Green Lantern Ring with Minh Lê” which will feature Green Lantern: Legacy writer Lê. Thursday’s video will be “Superman Origami With Gene Luen Yang,” and Friday’s video will be “Make Your Own Superhero With Dustin Hansen.”

Creators that will be featured as part of DC Kids Camp will include Shannon and Dean Hale (Diana: Princess of the Amazons), Ridley Pearson of the Super Sons trilogy of graphic novels, and artist Brittney Williams (Lois Lane and the Friendship Challenge).

The program will also include activity sheets, coloring pages, and additional content that will be available on the Twitter and Instagram accounts. A newsletter will be sent twice a week on Mondays and Fridays for those who sign up.

British comics weekly The Phoenix has been running a similar program service on its own Twitter account this week alongside 2000 AD that released an activity pack last week that featured the 2000 AD Regened versions of its characters, according to the outlet.
