The podcast, based on Rick Bowers’ book fo the same name, tells the true-to-life story of Stetson Kennedy, a man who courageously went undercover to infiltrate the KKK in 1946. In a remarkable alliance, Mr. Kennedy, the Anti-Defamation League and the producers of the Superman radio show joined forces to expose the cultish insanity of the KKK, severely damaging their influence.

Ruth Cornet, Head of Development for FANDOM, supervising producer Max Dionne and senior vice president of programming Michael Chiang are attached to executive produce the project while Cornet, who worked as a journalist for AMC Theaters, NBC Universal, IGN, In Contention, and more, will host. Comedian Ed Greer will co-host the project.

“This story is an incredible mix of undercover journalism, brand activism and the power of pop culture to change the world,” Cornet said. “We live in an era where fans identify themselves by the things they love, so there is incredible power in harnessing this passion to make an impact.”

“We’re excited to serialize Superman vs. the KKK in a format that recalls the days of radio drama,” Jordan said. “The FANDOM team brings an enormous amount of insight and talent to the project, and we’re sure the results will be fantastic. There’s something powerful here: a timely lesson on the dangers of systemic racism — an issue that modern audiences are sure to find compelling.”

PaperChase is also currently developing an animated adaptation of the novel, which will be produced by Adi Shankar, best-known as showrunner and executive producer on the acclaimed Netflix adaptation of the hit video game franchise Castlevania. PaperChase will produce the project alongside Shankar and Marc Rosen (Sense8), while Vikram Salgaocar is set to executive produce.
