Mini-Review:
“The Blues Brothers” finally makes its debut on Blu-ray, appropriately enough. You already know this is an awesome movie. If you haven’t seen it, stop reading this and go out and buy the Blu-ray. This movie has one of the best movie soundtracks ever made, it has one of the best car chases of all time, and it is really funny. Plus it features cameos by everyone from Steven Spielberg to Carrie Fisher to James Brown. This is required viewing.

This Blu-ray is very close to the 25th Anniversary DVD that was released in 2009. It has both the theatrical version and the extended version of the movie. It has the “Making of the Blues Brothers” documentary which is nearly an hour long. It also has the featurettes “Transposing the Music” and “Remembering John.” Surprisingly, though, this Blu-ray doesn’t have everything from that previous DVD. It’s missing “Going Rounds: A Day on the Blues Brothers Tour” and the old introduction to the film by Dan Aykroyd. So if you’re a completist, don’t get rid of that DVD just yet.

This is a required addition to anybody’s Blu-ray collection. Pick it up and you won’t be disappointed!
