Mini-Review:
I’m a big time “Lost” fan. It’s one of the few shows I watch religiously when it first airs. I already owned all the previous seasons on DVD, but was excited to see the earlier seasons offered in Blu-ray. While I had watched all the recent seasons on HD television, I saw Season One and Season Two on regular television. So with this Blu-ray set it was cool to go back and experience them in HD.

With this new Blu-ray release I was kind of expecting to see some new bonus features included. While it includes all the wonderful bonus features from the previous DVD releases, there’s nothing particularly new on the Blu-ray release. What you’ll find is a feature called “SeasonPlay.” What that means is you can save a profile on the Blu-ray player and whenever you take the disc out and come back later to play it, it will pick up again in the exact same spot. You can also set up multiple profiles so different people can save where they left off watching the series. This is a great feature if you’re watching “Lost” for the first time. But if you’ve already seen it, this feature is of limited use.

If you’ve never bought “Lost” on DVD before, this Blu-ray version is the definitive edition to pick up. If you already own it on regular DVD, you’ll have to decide if the HD experience is worth the extra expense. I expect you’ll see a lot of “Lost” DVD’s on eBay in the near future. You can currently pick up Seasons 1, 2, and 5 on Blu-ray with 3 and 4 on the way some time in the future.
