Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle Digital and Blu-ray Release Details

Sony Pictures’ Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is set to be released on Digital HD and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD next month. Directed by Jake Kasdan, the film has grossed over $860 million worldwide, and serious talks have already occurred regarding a potential sequel. The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan as they work together to beat the mysterious game they were drawn into so they can return to the real world. The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle Digital release is set for March 6 and it is coming to 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on March 20. You can pre-order your copy by clicking here.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle follows four high-school students who discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of — Jumanji — they are immediately drawn into the game’s jungle setting, literally becoming the avatars they chose. Gamer Spencer (Johnson) becomes a brawny adventurer. Football jock Fridge (Hart) loses “the top two feet of his body” and becomes an Einstein. Popular girl Bethany (Black) becomes a middle-aged male professor. Wallflower Martha (Gillan) becomes a badass warrior. What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji – you must survive it. To beat the game and return to the real world, they’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, discover what Alan Parrish (played in the original film by the late, great Robin Williams) left 20 years ago, and change the way they think about themselves – or they’ll be stuck in the game forever.

The bonus material for the release of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle includes a gag reel, a music video featuring Black and Jonas, and five behind-the-scenes featurettes. For the first time ever, the home entertainment packaging will feature a special Snapchat Snapcode that unlocks an augmented reality experience. When fans pick up a copy of the film on Blu-ray or DVD and scan the Snapcode with their Snapchat app, they will find the jungle brought to life right in front of them. Once there, they can record their experience and share it with their friends. There will be an additional Snapcode on an insert inside the package — exclusively for consumers who purchase the disc — that will trigger a second first-of-its-kind AR experience that will bring the characters from Jumanji into your living room.

Physical copies of the film will also include digital versions of the movie that are redeemable using the Movies Anywhere App. Check out a list of features for the home video release below.
