August 30: This Week on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD

August 30 brings home Me Before You, The Jungle Book, Star Wars: Rebels and more!

Kicking off the week is a pair of recent big screen releases. Walt Disney Home Entertainment brings to Blu-ray Jon Favreau’s massive box hit, The Jungle Book, while Warner Bros. Home Entertainment delivers Thea Sharrock’s romantic drama Me Before You, starring Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin.

There’s a double feature for Tom Hiddleston fans with both director Ben Wheatley’s take on J.G. Ballard’s novel High-Rise and AMC‘s miniseries adaptation of John le Carré’s The Night Manager.

The Criterion Collection, meanwhile, offers their own double feature with a pair of Orson Welles titles. Joining the collection on August 30 are both 1965’s Chimes at Midnight and 1968’s The Immortal Story.

Kino-Lorber continues to explore the work of Fritz Lang with an HD release of his 1921 silent, Destiny.

Shout! Factory is experimenting with a new limited edition line of cult titles, the first of which debuts August 30 with a Deathstalker / Deathstalker II Blu-ray double feature. Limited to 1,000 copies, the set is only available directly from Shout! Factory.

Celebrating the film’s 25th anniversary, Image Entertainment is releasing a Blu-ray special edition of Alan Parker’s musical comedy drama The Commitments.

A trio of small screen shows head to Blu-ray August 30. Be on the lookout for season four of The CW‘s DC Comics series, Arrow, season two of Disney XD‘s animated adventure Star Wars: Rebels, and season six of Showtime‘s dark comedy Shameless.

Small screen titles arriving on DVD only this week include the first season of the STARZ comedy series Blunt Talk, the fourth season of NBC‘s Chicago Fire, the first season of the spinoff, Chicago Med, the seventh season of CBS‘ NCIS: Los Angeles, 11th season of the network’s Criminal Minds and the 12th season of ABC‘s Grey’s Anatomy.

Debuting via Digital HD this week is Marvel Studios‘ massive summer blockbuster Captain America: Civil War, Nicolas Winding Refn’s haunting stylistic thriller The Neon Demon and, debuting directly to home video, the franchise sequel Kickboxer: Vengeance.

Also arriving via Digital HD this week is Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV. You can go behind the scenes of the animated feature with an exclusive video that explores the film’s use of motion capture technology and features stars Aaron Paul, Lena Headey, and Sean Bean.
