2016 kicks off with a number of recent big-screen horror releases coming home January 5. There’s Eli Roth’s cannibal tale The Green Inferno, M. Night Shyamalan’s “found footage” thriller The Visit and the horror comedies Scout’s Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse and Deathgasm.

Other big screen releases hitting January 5 include Denis Villeneuve’s intense drug war thriller Sicario (starring Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro), Maya Forbes’ charming drama Infinitely Polar Bear (starring Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldana), Robert Zemeckis’ biopic of high-wire artist Philippe Petit, The Walk (starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt), and the documentary A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story.

With the new franchise sequel hitting theaters later this month, Fox Home Entertainment has new editions of both Kung Fu Panda and Kung Fu Panda 2, both of which now feature a brand-new disc of extra features.

Following it’s recent debut via Crackle, the comedy sequel Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser is available on DVD and Blu-ray January 5.

Shout! Factory has another double feature of cult classics this week with a Blu-ray set featuring both The House Where Evil Dwells and Ghost Warrior while The Criterion Collection welcomes The Complete Lady Snowblood (featuring Toshiya Fujita’s Lady Snowblood and Love Song of Vengeance) and Kino releases a five-film Fantomas set, offering Louis Feuillade’s early silent serials Fantômas in the Shadow of the Guillotine, Juve vs. FantômasThe Murderous CorpseFantômas vs. Fantômas and The False Magistrate.

Small screen releases hitting January 5 include Starz‘ professional ballet miniseries Flesh and Bone (from Breaking Bad‘s Moira Walley-Beckett), the second season of HBO‘s True Detective and, on DVD only, the tenth season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and the second season of the equally-hilarious Broad City.

Debuting via Digital HD the week of January 5 are Jon M. Chu’s ’80s cartoon adaptation Jem and the Holograms, Roland Emmerich’s true civil rights drama Stonewall, and the acclaimed big screen N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton.
