Nickelback Documentary: Who Are the Current Members of the Canadian Rock Band?

The much-awaited documentary about the popular rock band Nickelback has finally received a theatrical release date. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hate to Love: Nickelback will play in theaters around the world on March 27 and March 30, 2024. In addition, Trafalgar Releasing, Gimme Sugar Productions, and Submarine Entertainment recently announced that tickets will be available from February 22, 2024, onward.

Nickelback was formed in 1995 in Alberta, Canada. Since its inception, most of its members have remained constant. However, its drummer has changed several times. Currently, their members consist of:

  • Chad Kroeger
  • Ryan Peake
  • Mike Kroeger
  • Daniel Adair

According to Rotten Tomatoes, the synopsis of Hate to Love: Nickelback reads, “A feature-length, in-depth look at one of the world’s most successful rock groups. This film tells the real story of Nickelback from their humble beginnings in Alberta to the explosive global success of ‘How You Remind Me’ in 2001 and the record-breaking hits that followed and continue to this day. But with that ‘Rockstar’ fame came an early wave of the online negativity that many other artists have faced since.”

It further reads, “In a refreshingly open, honest, and revealing account, the band discusses the conception of Nickelback and their incredible rise to the top in the 2000s. They reveal the personal impact of the online vitriol, the loyalty of their fans, and their decision to return after a 5-year break with a new record and a hugely successful new tour, finding themselves riding a sudden wave of online love that has introduced their music to an army of new fans.”

The director of Hate to Love: Nickelback is Leigh Brooks. Furthermore, its producer is Ben Jones.

Nickelback Documentary: How Many Former Members Does the Band Have?

Nickelback has three former members, all of whom are drummers. Their first drummer was Brandon Kroeger, who played from 1995 to 1997. After Kroeger left, Mitch Guindon replaced him. However, Guindon was with the band for only a year (1997–1998). Their third drummer was Ryan Vikedal, who played in the band from 1998 to 2005. After Vikedal left, Daniel Adair joined them in 2005 and has been with the band ever since.

The band is thoroughly excited about the upcoming project. Furthermore, they released a statement where they thanked Ben Jones and Leigh Brooks for their work on Hate to Love: Nickelback. The band said, “We are very excited to finally bring this film to theaters this Spring. It’s been a long road to get this project across the finish line and we must thank Ben Jones and Leigh Brooks for all of their hard work. We hope everyone enjoys our story, fans, friends or otherwise.”

Jones and Brookes also released a statement that said, “We are both really excited to finally share this film with the fans around the world in such a huge and special theatrical event. We think their patience will be worth the wait.”

Nickelback has released 10 studio albums so far, with 2022’s Get Rollin’ being their last album. Billboard named them the most successful rock band of the decade in 2009. Furthermore, last year they were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
