Marvel Comics has officially revealed new details about the upcoming release of Amazing Spider-Man #1000, marking a major milestone. The anniversary issue is set to arrive in September. It will continue the current creative run led by writer Joe Kelly and artist Pepe Larraz.
The publisher confirmed that the issue will center on a large-scale story that significantly impacts Peter Parker’s future. Marvel also announced the introduction of a new villain named Ravage, who is expected to become a major threat within the Spider-Man universe. Marvel additionally revealed the issue’s cover artwork. The main cover comes from John Romita Jr. and Paolo Rivera, while a variant illustration from Larraz provides an early look at the newest antagonist.
The anniversary release will also feature contributions from a wide range of creators related to Spider-Man’s comic book legacy. Among the names attached to the project are John Romita Jr., Frank Miller, Brian Michael Bendis, Dan Slott, J. M. DeMatteis, Patrick Gleason, Peach Momoko, Marcos Martin, and Stuart Immonen. Noah Hawley is also attached to the issue, marking his first project for Marvel Comics.
The publisher teased Ravage as one of Spider-Man’s most dangerous new enemies in years. Marvel stated, “Who is this Ravage?
