The ongoing thriller C-drama Frozen Surface released its tenth episode on January 17, 2024. The original broadcasting network for the drama is Tencent Video. The drama stars prominent actors like Chen Jianbin, Hu Jun, and Deng Jiajia in the main roles. The drama follows the story of captain Guan Yu (Chen Jianbin) of the Lanhe criminal police as he attempts to solve various mysterious murders around Lanhe. As the story progresses, he finds that the origin of the murders goes years back to when he was a young police officer and that the killings are all interlinked.
Episode 10 begins with a flashback. Wang Ping (Deng Jiajia) is in a meeting with the magistrate. Magistrate Qi tells her that Hongqiao does not pay attention to his advice about the development of the Lanhe riverside. Wang Ping tries to calm him down. In the meantime, Hongqiao arrives at the meeting. He turns down the magistrate’s proposal of a joint development project. Hongqiao also makes a scene and insults Wang Ping and her associate Xiang (Zhao Jian). The magistrate angrily leaves the place.
Hongqiao and Wang Ping were previously married, but they had divorced. Hongqiao proposes to her to remarry. But Wang Ping laughs at this and leaves the place. Enraged, Hongqiao curses at her.

Xiang comes home to find the woman who killed Xuesong sitting in his living room. The woman asks him to send her away from Lanhe. Xiang tells her that she has done a messy job. He says that it is not possible to send her away as the police are looking for her.
Police search for the mystery killer. They arrive at the hotel where she is hiding. The little girl at the counter recognizes the sketch.
In the latest episode of Frozen Surface, Guan Yu is face to face with Yang Si (Hu Jun) in the interrogation room. Yang Si still has no idea about his son being killed, and he asks Guan Yu about his whereabouts. Guan Yu asks Yang why he lied to the police. He also tells Yang that he knows Yang went to the Hongqiao residency that night because of his son. Yang Si denies his son’s involvement in the case.
Yang Si slowly starts to reveal the truth. His real name is Yang Lija. He reveals that years ago, it was he who tried to kill Liu. Hongqiao had ordered him to do so after he lent Yang money for his son’s treatment. He also revealed that he fears something bad has happened to his son as he saw someone taking him away in a car. When he arrived at the shrine, he had an encounter with Wang Ping, who told him that his son killed someone.
Yang Lija also revealed that he had arrived at the scene after the crimes had been committed. He left his fingerprints everywhere to save his son. He also scared a passerby with a rod and made him see his face clearly.
