Ongoing Chinese drama Our Interpreter, starring Victoria Song and Chen Xingxu, has released episodes 18 and 19 on January 17, 2024. The original broadcasting network of the drama is Hunan TV. The drama follows the genre of workplace romance and tells the story of ex-couple Lin Xi (Victoria Song) and Xiao Yicheng (Chen Xingxu), who face each other many years after their break-up.
Episode 18 begins with showing Shasha (Lin Zi Lu) and Wei Tian (Wang Sen) in an empty bus on their way back home from the amusement park. Tian tries to make small conversations with Shasha, but she continues to ignore him and gets off the bus without saying anything. In the meantime, Tian receives a text from Lin Xi telling him that Shasha wants to transfer to another department. Tian goes after Shasha and confronts her. After he asks her why she wants to transfer, she confesses to having feelings for him. Tian tells her that he also feels the same way.
After reaching home, Yicheng asks Lin Xi to come over to his place so he can test the AI doctor on her. Yicheng tells her that she tries to be tough, but she needs someone to care for her. He also tells her that he wants to take care of her for the rest of her life. Lin Xi doesn’t answer and quietly goes back to her apartment.
Our Interpreter Ep 18-19: Victoria Song has a disagreement with her family
In the latest episode of Our Interpreter, Lin’s father makes arrangements for Professor Gao’s birthday event. But problems arise when Gao’s daughter comes back from abroad and wants to arrange it herself. Lin stands up for her father. But her aunt doesn’t want to back down even after Lin tells her that her father has already booked everything. After Gao brings up how similar she is to her mother, Lin gets furious and leaves the place at once.
Lin’s colleagues are unable to reach her and tell Yicheng about it. Yicheng rushes out to look for her. Drunk, Lin Xi opens her heart and tells him how there has always been a clear discrimination between her and her cousin, Shasha, and how much it hurt her. Yicheng consoles her by saying that he owes all his success to Lin Xi. And if she had not made him apply to top colleges, he wouldn’t be where he is now.
The next morning, Lin wakes up in a hotel bed. She recalls the embarrassing moments from the previous night and how Yicheng cared for her. Lin thanks him for being there for her, comforting her. She finally starts to see his worth.
In episode 19 of Our Interpreter, an old friend of Lin Xi and Yicheng arranges a small get-together. Xiao Chen gets extremely jealous seeing Yicheng and Lin Xi close. She confronts Yicheng and tells him that Lin doesn’t have a good reputation in the industry and is no match for him. Yicheng defends Lin. They share a soulful kiss in the parking lot. Memories from their days together as a couple come rushing back to Lin Xi.
