Today, CyberConnect2 revealed a set of new videos featuring fighters from the Demon Slayer game, titled Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles. This time around, Sakonji, Sabito, and Makomo got the spotlight.
While all of the presented fighters all use the Water Breathing technique, they each have their little quirks to set themselves apart. Tanjiro’s initial trainer Sakonji Urokodaki mixes his swordmanship with a number of traps including bamboo shoots that shoot upwards from the ground, and a giant boulder that is spawned from the sky. Makomo makes up for her low strength with her incredible agility. Lastly, there is Sabito, Sakonji’s most powerful student (until Tanjiro came along), who can certainly hold his own against another swordsman.
Now that we’ve seen Sakonji, Sabito, and Makomo, here is the current roster list for the upcoming Demon Slayer game:
- Tanjiro Kamado
- Nezuko Kamado
- Zenitsu Agatsuma
- Inosuke Hashibira
- Giyu Tomioka
- Sakonji Urokodaki
- Shinobu Kocho
- Kyojuro Rengoku
The Demon Slayer game is being developed by CyberConnect2, the studio behind Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. It will feature a Solo Mode that will allow players to play through certain events from the Demon Slayer anime. The Versus Mode will let players to pick from one of the above characters and go head-to-head either locally or online.
Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam sometime this year in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Southeast Asia. A North American date has yet to be announced, but the existence of an English version of the game may indicate that it could be coming to English-speaking territories in the future.
