The New Gate episode 1 recap
The episode introduces the world-famous game New Gate and how it has slowly transitioned into a death game. Shin, the top-ranked player, fights the boss alone to save everyone and make them log out. However, after defeating the boss, he is transported 500 years into the future.
After arriving, he notices his skills are better and makes his way to his old base of operations. There, he meets the elf Tiera, a student of his former ally Schee Raizer. He helps her by breaking her curse, which causes her to live inside a barrier for years. She gives Heim a letter of introduction to the city to thank him.
After arriving, Shin joins the adventurer guild and meets the guild master, who has also received a letter from Schnee. Shin then joins as a G-rank adventurer and sets out to complete his first quest. However, he is interrupted by a high-rank monster. Using his new skill, he defeats it and shatters his sword, which travels to the palace.
