Ninja Kamui episode 9 is titled “An Elegant Battle,” and it features some intense moments in the history of the anime. One of these includes Emma’s unexpected death, which saddens fans.
The episode begins with Emma and Mike discussing the strategy to take AUZA down. At the same time, Yamaji and the AUZA CEO argue about AUZA’s fate, with Yamaji threatening the latter to eradicate him to fulfill the ninja duty.
Later, Emma explains to Higan how the Gusoku Gear works while Mike takes a nap. Eventually, Big D shows up to fight the exiled ninjas and their supporters in his suit while Emma and others have already set their plan into action.
Emma and Jason attempt to break down AUZA’s system by hacking it while Higan prepares to fight Big D in the Kamui suit. Mike, too, helps to take down the AUZA mercenaries. Emma joins Mike to help him with the fight, and Jason continues to break into AUZA’s system.
Eventually, following an intense showdown, Higan defeats Big D. However, the AUZA CEO had fit a bomb inside Big D’s suit, leading to Emma’s death. Before her death, Emma reveals her true face to Mike, leading to a bittersweet ending.
