One Piece episode 1100 centers on Luffy and Lucci. Both parties attempt to avoid a fight, but they ultimately decide to engage in battle. They nullify each other’s attacks in their base forms, implying a balance of power. They also evenly exchange their Haki-based attacks. Lucci inquires about the latest poster, prompting the protagonist to activate Gear 5 in response.

Jinbei and Chopper witnessed Luffy’s awakened form for the first time. Sanji and Shaka could also spectate the fight from Dr. Vegapunk’s lab. The gripping battle ended with a single blow from Luffy demolishing Lucci. However, he does return, annoyed at the protagonist’s attitude. He then reveals the awakened turn of his Cat-Cat Fruit, Model: Leopard. Lucci showcases his crazy speed, which Shaka notes as unusual. This is because, in most cases, a Zoan-type Fruit user can’t maintain their personality through and through.

Towards the end of episode 1100, Dr. Vegapunk enters his lab and asks Nami about Luffy’s transformation. She replies that those are the powers of the Gum-Gum Fruit. However, Vegapunk denies any existence of such Devil Fruit. Instead, he points out that Luffy’s appearance is similar to that of the Sun God Nika.

Vegapunk further explains that the name of Sun God Nika has been erased from history. Nevertheless, he assures that its existence will never fade as long as people desire it. He elaborates that Devil Fruits embody people’s yearning for human evolution. These different abilities help to anticipate the diverse futures of humanity. In fact, Devil Fruit users live in a different reality than ordinary people, existing as someone else’s dreams. However, these abilities come at a cost — the curse of being repelled by the sea.

In the end, Sentomaru emerges, utterly enraged at both Luffy and Lucci. He is prepared to back up the CP0 with his Seraphim. However, Vegapunk clarifies that the CP0 is actually targeting him. Consequently, they have to be thrown off from the island. Sentomaru commands the Seraphim to assault the Navy, which was possible solely due to his higher position of authority than the CP0.

Also, Sentomaru commands the S-Snake to help Luffy and his crew on their way to the Vacuum Rocket so they can reach Labophase. After defeating Lucci, Luffy meets Sentomaru, who requests that he help Vegapunk escape. Luffy agrees to it, and the crew prepares to flee. However, Lucci launches a surprise attack on Sentomaru, resulting in him falling and potentially losing control over the Seraphim.

The latest episode of One Piece is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
