On March 15, 2024, DMM Pictures announced that Hiroaki Nagashima’s Good Bye Dragon Life, Hello Human Life light novel is getting an anime adaptation. The company also released the upcoming anime’s trailer, cast, and staff.
Hiroaki Nagashima released the web novels in 2013 with illustrations by Kisuke Ichimaru. Later, Alphapolis released the first volume of the light novel in 2015, while Hirokai and Kurono released the manga adaptation in December 2015.

Good Bye Dragon Life, Hello Human Life anime: Everything you need to know
The highly anticipated anime adaptation is scheduled for release sometime in 2024. Although the exact release details remain unannounced, fans can expect the news in the coming weeks.
The main cast includes Shunsuke Takeuchi, who will star as Dolan. His character is the strongest dragon who gets reborn as a human. Joining him will be Hitomi Sekine, who stars as Celina, a lamia.
As for the staff, Ken’ichi Nishida will direct the anime at Synergy SP and Vega Entertainment, while Naokatsu Tsuda will handle the script. Nozomi Kawashige is responsible for character design, while Tatsuhiko Saiki and Hanae Nakamura compose the music.
Alphapolis, which releases the manga in English, describes the story: “After living a long life as the strongest and oldest dragon, he is slain by a human hero. He awakes to find himself reborn as a human, Dolan, in a remote village. He works hard as a farmer and sometimes hunts for food. His life is simple in this small village, but he is surrounded by love. He soon finds happiness he’d never experienced in his life as a dragon. However, dangerous monsters have been lurking around his village lately, and he goes to the woods to investigate when he finds out an army of monsters is heading his way.”
