Konosuba season 3 was earlier scheduled to premiere sometime in 2024. However, it has been recently revealed that the upcoming season of the comedy fantasy series will be part of the Spring 2024 lineup, suggesting a big comeback for Kazuma, Darkness, Aqua, and Megumin.
Konosuba season 3 release date, plot, and more
As mentioned earlier, the fan-favorite characters of Konosuba will return soon in season 3. The earlier released trailers didn’t provide much insight into the upcoming season. However, the recent promotional clip shows more footage, featuring a snippet of Machico’s “Growing Up” opening theme. The release date for this highly anticipated season is April 10, 2024, which will air first broadcast on TOKYO MX at 11:30 p.m. JST. Following this, it will be available to watch on BS11 and other Japanese local networks.
The upcoming season will see Kazuma being disillusioned with his life. In order to change the course of his life, he will aim to live the life of a monk. On the other hand are his allies, who experience luxury and fame as they accompany a princess with stories of their adventures.
Studio DEEN produced the first two seasons of the anime. However, Studio Drive will produce the upcoming installment of Konosuba. Takaomi Kanasaki is a well-known name in the industry, and he will reportedly supervise as the chief director for this season at the animation studio. Meanwhile, Yujiro Abe is directing the series. He has earlier worked on well-known series such as The Great Pretender and Kaguya-sama: Love is War. Makoto Uezu will handle the composition, and Koichi Kikuta will be responsible for the character designs.
There are several returning members in the voice cast. This includes Jun Fukushima as Kazuma Sato, Sora Amamiya as Aqua, Rie Takahashi as Megumin, Ai Kayano as Darkness, Yui Horie as Wiz, Masakazu Nishida as Vanir, Aki Toyosaki as Yunyun, and more.
The ending theme of the series will feature the main cast, which includes Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness. The theme is titled “Ano Hi no Mama no Bokura.”
