Much-Awaited Anime Spring 2024 Releases on Crunchyroll

The announcement of Crunchyroll’s much-awaited Spring 2024 lineup has sparked excitement and anticipation among Otakus worldwide. While many new titles are set to debut, some old ones are returning to the screen.



Mark the dates as ComingSoon lists ten of the most-anticipated new anime releasing in Spring 2024 on Crunchyroll. Some of the anime releases listed below will have JST timings mentioned. However, their dub airtime on Crunchyroll will be updated on its spring lineup page closer to release dates.

KonoSuba -God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! season 3

One of the much-awaited anime series releasing on Crunchyroll in Spring 2024 is KonoSuba season 3. Though the anime’s previous two seasons were being produced at Studio DEEN, Takaomi Kanasaki is directing the television series’ third season at Studio Drive.

Premiering on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, the anime TV adaptation will feature the adventures of Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness. While Kanon Takao will voice Iris, Sayuri Yahagi will play the role of Claire. Moreover, Reina Ueda will voice the character of Rain.

Laid-Back Camp Season 3

Based on Afro’s Laid-Back Camp manga with the same name, Laid-Back Camp Season 3 will be produced at 8-Bit, transitioning from C-Station. Shin Tosaka is directing the anime’s third season, and Masafumi Suguira handles the series’ composition.

The season’s debut episode will air on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 11 p.m. JST. According to Crunchyroll, the season will pick up after the second installment. Hence, the plot will revolve around Rin Shima’s next solo trip. Meanwhile, Nadeshiko Kagamihara will plan her debut solo trip since Rin inspired her. Nao As for the series’ cast, Tōyama will voice Rin, and Yumiri Hanamori will play the role of Nadeshiko Kagamihara.

Kaiju No. 8

Shigeyuki Miya is directing one of the much-awaited Crunchyroll spring 2024 anime series—Kaiju No. 8. Production I.G is producing the anime, while Studio Khara handles its designs and artwork. The anime will debut on Saturday, April 13, 2024.

Unlike the previous two anime series on the list, Kaiju No. 8 is a new television series based on Naoya Matsumoto’s manga. It features a regular man unexpectedly turning into a monster, who then tries to navigate through his fate. Masaya Fukunishi will play the role of the main character, Kafka aka Kaiju No. 8.

Viral Hit

This new anime is based on Taejun Pak and Jung Hyun Kim’s webtoon series, Viral Hit. Masakazu Hishida is directing the anime television adaptation at Okuru to Noboru. Simultaneously, Toshiyo Ono is handling the scripts.

The anime will debut on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, on Fuji TV’s Ultra+ programming block in Japan. Meanwhile, Crunchyroll will stream the anime in most parts of the world. The anime’s story entails a regular man, Hobin Yu, who becomes a star after his fight becomes a viral sensation in the media. According to the anime’s official website, Satoshi Niwa will voice the protagonist, Kota Shimura, and Nobuhiko Okamoto will play the role of Toru “Kanegon” Kaneko.

Black Butler -Public School Arc-

After becoming a viral sensation, Black Butler is back with its latest season. Kenjirō Okada is directing the series at CloverWorks. Moreover, Daisuke Ono and Maaya Sakamoto are returning to play the lead characters, Sebastian and Ciel, respectively.

Airing on Saturday, April 13, 2024, the series will continue the adventures of Ciel and Sebastian as they embark on a new mission at their school.

Re:Monster

Re:Monster is based on Kogitsune Kanekiru’s light novel series. Takayuki Inagaki is directing the action fantasy isekai show at Studio DEEN. Meanwhile, GENCO is producing the series.

According to Crunchyroll, Re:Monster will debut on Monday, April 1, 2024. The story involves Tomokui Kanata, who suffers an early death. However, he is reincarnated as a goblin in a magical world with a devilish appetite. Among the main characters and voice actors, Takuya Satou voices Rou, Ai Kakuma plays Mi, and Kenta Hosoda plays Kichi.

The Irregular at Magic High School Season 3

Tsutomu Satou launched The Irregular at Magic High School light novel series in 2008, which inspired an anime television adaptation in April 2014. The Irregular at Magic High School is returning with a third season directed by Jimmy Stone at 8-Bit.

The anime is set to launch an advanced screening event on Sunday, March 31, 2024, ahead of its grand premiere in April. As such, the series will officially air on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 11:30 p.m. JST. As per Crunchyroll, the season will feature Tatsuya and Miyuki’s adventures as they barge into the new Magic Engineering Department.

Spice and Wolf: merchant meets the wise wolf

Another anime series that made it into Crunchyroll’s Spring 2024 lineup is Spice and Wolf: merchant meets the Wise Wolf. Takeo Takahashi will serve as the series’ chief director, while Hijiri Sanpei will direct the anime at Studio Passione.

The anime will air on Monday, April 1, 2024, at 25:30 JST, which globally translates to April 2, 2024, at 1:30 a.m. Moreover, the story will entail Kraft Lawrence and how his world changes following his encounter with Holo, the wolf girl. Jun Fukuyama will play Kraft Lawrence’s role, with Ami Koshimizu returning as the wolf girl, Holo.

Astro Note

Astro Note is an original sci-fi comedy series. Among its stellar cast is Shinichirō Miki as Shokichi Yamashita, Tomokazu Sugita as Tomohiro Wakabayashi, and Rie Kugimiya as Ren Wakabayashi. Shinji Takamatsu is the original television show’s chief director, while Haruki Kasugamori directs the anime at Telecom Animation Film.

In Japan, the TV series will debut on Friday, April 5, 2024, on local Japanese channels, including Tokyo MX and AT-X. The story centers around Takumi, a local chef who meets Mira, who belongs to another world. Though enchanted by her charm and beauty, the anime features their story as Mira lives with her secret in Takumi’s presence.

I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince So I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability

Kodansha USA Publishing launched Yōsuke Kokuzawa and Meru’s manga via Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app in 2020. The manga is now getting a television series adaptation on Crunchyroll this spring.

The series is set to air worldwide on Monday, April 1, 2024, at 24:00 JST, which translates to April 2, 2024, at 12 a.m. JST. Jin Tamamura is directing the TV series at Tsumugi Akita Anime Lab. The anime’s story entails a regular sorcerer reincarnated as a prince with overwhelming power and responsibilities. The twist is that Prince Lloyd vividly remembers his past life and decides to continue his journey as a sorcerer. 

While many anime titles are leaving Crunchyroll this season, the web streaming platform is ready to bring new ones to fill the gap. Much like previously released anime, many upcoming series have become highly anticipated as they promise to take fans on an unforgettable journey.
