P.A. Works Studio has revealed the Komada – A Whisky Family release. The film’s official Twitter account has confirmed the news.
What is the Komada film’s release date?
The teaser revealed the film’s release date. It’s going to come out on November 10, as of this writing.
The people at P.A. Works have also revealed artwork of the main characters. This included Rui Komada, Kotaro Takahashi, Tomoko Kawabata, and Hiroshi Yasumoto. The film had a special screening at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France, which took place from June 11 to 17.
Masayuki Yoshihara is going to be the director, and Yukito Kizawa and Munemasa Nakamoto wrote the scripts. Tomomi Takada made the character designs. This is P.A. Works’ fifth film centered around people and their jobs, following Hana-Saku Iroha, Shirobako, Sakura Quest, and The Aquatope on White Sand.
What is Komada about?
Rui is the protagonist of the film, and she takes over the family’s failing whisky business. The company fell on hard times after her father passed away.
She decides to get the business back on track and produce the best Japanese whisky in the industry. However, she also has to face other problems along the way.
Her family has fallen apart as well, and they are struggling to communicate, which is something that she is going to try to fix. This proves to be one of the key plot threads in the film.
A natural disaster also plays a huge role in the family’s fortune, and this is another ordeal Rui has to deal with during the story.
