The Devil is a Part-Timer!! Episode 9 Recap

Emi and Maou decide to handle the bear. Suddenly, a car passes by and honks its horn, causing the bear to charge toward Emi. Emi manages to beat the bar with her physical strength. Somehow, news of Emi defeating the bear spreads on the internet. Reporters start arriving at the Sasaki household, but the Sasakis send them away. Meanwhile, Kazuma thanks Emi for protecting Hinako and Hitoshi. After Kazuma leaves the room, Emi gets mad at the thought of being called a “bear killer.”

Elsewhere, Maou and Ashiya help out Manji with farming. Manji tells them about how Yumiko and Kazuma further developed the family business. After Manji explains the function of the solar panels, Maou relates it to the demon realm. Once they arrive home, Onda, the residents’ association head, informs them of the recent vegetable theft incidents. Maou, Emi, and the rest of the group decide on what they could do. Maou deduces that the car from the bear incident is the same one behind the robberies.

While the group is planning, Chiho’s grandma enters the room. She says it doesn’t matter that Maou and the others aren’t “normal” — as long as they’re keeping her family safe, it doesn’t pose a problem. She prepares a map for the group, making patrolling easier for them. Urushihara also points out that the thieves were after the solar panels. Eventually, the thieves show up to take a solar panel. Ashiya interferes and catches one of them. Meanwhile, Emi and Suzuno chase after the car.

One of the thieves runs away from Emi and Suzuno but bumps into Maou. They successfully catch all the thieves. Later on, Maou and the others are back in Tokyo. The Sasaki family sends Maou and Emi a lot of vegetables as a form of thanks. In the post-credits scene, Emerada calls Emi, asking if Emi’s mother, Lailah, is in Tokyo.
