RWBY: Ice Queendom Trailer Previews Shaft’s Anime Series

Following the announcement of the television anime series RWBY: Ice Queendom, a trailer for the anime has been released, highlighting the main characters fans will be following along during the series.

The trailer mostly focuses on RWBY’s main character, Ruby Rose, and her ascension to leader of the group. A move that will clearly have large ramifications not only for her partners but those around her as well.

As announced during the ongoing AnimeJapan 2022 convention, many members of the original English cast and Japanese dub would be reprising their roles for the upcoming anime, including:

  • Lindsay Jones and Saori Hayami as Ruby Rose
  • Kara Eberle and Yōko Hikasa as Weiss Schnee
  • Arryn Zech and Yu Shimamura as Blake Belladonna
  • Barbara Dunkelman and Ami Koshimizu as Yang Xiao Long
  • Hiro Shimono as Jaune Arc
  • Aya Suzaki as Nora Valkyrie
  • Megumi Toyoguchi as Pyrrha Nikos
  • Sōma Saitō as Lie Ren
  • Kazuhiko Inoue as Professor Ozpin

RWBY: Ice Queendom presents RWBY in beautiful 2D anime visuals,” reads the official synopsis. “RWBY imagines a world filled with horrific monsters bent on death and destruction, and humanity’s only hope is dependent upon powerful Huntsmen and Huntresses. Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long are four such Huntresses in training whose journeys will take them far past the grounds of their school, Beacon Academy. Though each may be powerful on their own, these four girls must overcome dark forces and work as a team if they truly hope to become the next generation of Remnant’s protectors.”

Initially premiering in 2013, RWBY became a hit for Rooster Teeth, running for eight seasons and more than 100 episodes while also spawning a multitude of spin-offs, including various manga volumes and video games.
