I’m Quitting Heroing: Sentai Acquires Rights to Upcoming Fantasy Anime

The upcoming fantasy anime series I’m Quitting Heroing has been acquired by Sentai, which means the anime will stream on HiDive as a result.

I’m Quitting Heroing will be released in a variety of territories and will stream exclusively on HiDive with a home video release to follow in the future. The series is expected to begin streaming in April 2022 but no exact release date has been given just yet. However, fans shouldn’t have to wait very long.

“After saving the world, the strongest hero Leo became someone who is not wanted in the peaceful human world. He was too strong,” reads the official synopsis for the series. “Exiled, he seeks a job at the Demon King’s Army, which he had defeated and needs to be rebuilt. The Army had many problems: too much work, financial troubles, etc. Leo starts to make things better using his power. Leo encounters Echidna again and asks her why she invaded the human world. There was an unexpected story…!”

I’m Quitting Heroing premiered as an online novel series in January 2017 by Quantum, before being published in three volumes that ran from 2017-18. A manga adaptation also began in May 2018 and has been ongoing ever since. The anime adaptation of the series is brand-new and will begin airing in April 2022.

For Sentai, this news comes following the large announcement that they had been acquired by AMC Networks. The move also saw AMC Networks acquire HiDive, the direct-to-consumer subscription streaming service that Sentai also owned.
