Naruto Shippuden: What are The Six Paths of Pain?

In the Naruto universe, Rinnegan individuals may access an Outer Path technique called the Six Paths of Pain. With it, they may exert influence over as many as six bodies as if they were their own. The Akatsuki chief, Nagato Uzumaki, designed the routes. Black receivers that resemble piercings are inserted into a particular body (or corpse) to implement the procedure. This makes it possible to connect their chakra to it across great distances. The user will then be able to control everyone. One of the most unusual skills in the Naruto universe is their ability to control them physically, see through them, choose how to employ jutsu, and communicate via them.

Because of its great force, unexpected presence, and shared vision between the bodies, this technique works best in combo attacks. There is one drawback to the method. The bodies will all stop moving and become very exposed to assault in the case that the user is stopped while transferring the chakra to them. Using the Six Paths method, Nagato fought for his delicate state after being rendered powerless in combat with Hanzō. He takes advantage of this to further his persona as “Pain,” who seeks to bring about peace using less-than-peaceful ways. His late childhood friend Yahiko served as his first corpse. All of Nagato’s Paths pay homage to Yahiko by having hair that is the same color. When not in use, the corpses are kept in their pods in a secret area within Pain’s Tower. What, then, does every Path do?

The Deva Path is the most recognizable and influential of the six paths in the series. It grants Nagato the ability to manipulate attractive and repulsive forces, essentially controlling gravity itself. This power allows him to repel attacks effortlessly or gravitationally pull objects towards him with immense force, making him a formidable opponent in combat.

The Asura Path focuses on augmenting Nagato’s physical capabilities, effectively turning him into a mechanized warrior. This path enables him to manifest various mechanical appendages and weapons, enhancing his offensive and defensive capabilities in battle.

Human Path

The Human Path delves into the realm of mental manipulation, allowing Nagato to read minds and extract information directly from a person’s soul. By placing his hand on a victim’s chest, he can peer into their thoughts, making this path invaluable for intelligence gathering and interrogation purposes.

Animal Path

The Animal Path grants Nagato the ability to summon and control a variety of creatures to aid him in combat. These creatures, ranging from simple animals to mythical beasts, serve as powerful allies and distractions, overwhelming opponents with their sheer numbers and diverse abilities.

The Preta Path specializes in chakra absorption, creating a barrier around Nagato that can absorb any form of chakra-based energy. This ability makes him nearly impervious to Ninjutsu and other chakra-based attacks, turning his opponents’ strengths against them.

The Naraka Path serves a dual purpose of interrogation and restoration. By summoning the King of Hell, Nagato can question and extract information from individuals, using tendrils to draw out their life force if they deceive him. Conversely, he can also use this path to heal injuries and revive the deceased.
