In June 2024, Bronny James was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 55th pick. This allowed him to play beside his father, LeBron, the father-son duo in league history. The Lakers rookie recently sat down for a chat with The Athletic, where he talked about the criticism he has faced since his draft.

Bronny stated that he initially tried to ignore all the negative chatter. However, it does affect him at times. He said, “I always try to just let it go through one ear and out the other, put my head down, and come to work and be positive every day. But sometimes, it just, it fuels me a little bit.”

The shooting guard asserted that the criticism helps him work extra hard, both on and off the court. He said, “I just take that and use it as fuel for me to go out. Wake up every day and get to the gym early. Get my extra work in, watch my extra film every day, get better every day.”

Bronny James disclosed that he is coordinating with the development team as he progresses as a player. He has made appearances in the G-League and the NBA this year. In his most recent outing against the Milwaukee Bucks, James put up 17 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds.
