A Fourth Jaeger Blueprint From Pacific Rim

This week has been loaded with viral promos for Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim. The website for the Pan Pacific Defense Corps was uncovered yesterday, followed quickly by the first blueprint, a set of two more blueprints, and a Kaiju ‘Attack’ video. Now a fourth blueprint has emerged via Yourmovies.au. The blueprints are for the film’s giant robots, called Jaegers, and this one is named “Striker Eureka” and is stationed at the “Sydney Shatterdome” (hence why an Austailian website is hosting it). The Striker Eureka is pretty powerful, as it’s described as “the most advanced battle machine ever assembled: the biggest, fastest and strongest Jaeger ever to walk the earth.” Check out the blueprint below and be on the lookout for more Pacific Rim news in the future!

In the film, legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, start rising from the sea and begin a war that would takes millions of lives and consumes humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes-a washed up former pilot (Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Kikuchi)-who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Pacific Rim stars Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi, Idris Elba, Ron Perlman, and Charlie Day and is set to be released in 2D and 3D on July 12, 2013.
