Jennifer Carpenter & Morris Chestnut Join NBC Pilot The Enemy Within

TVLine reports that Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter) and Morris Chestnut (Rosewood) have joined the cast of NBC‘s new drama pilot, The Enemy Within.

Carpenter will star as CIA operations deputy Erica Wolfe, described as “a highly intelligent codebreaker who learned her craft from her father.” She will team up with Will Keaton (Chestnut), an FBI counter-intelligence agent. Carpenter and Chestnut are joining the previously-cast Raza Jaffrey (Code Black) who will play an FBI agent specializing in interrogation techniques.

The Enemy Within is written and executive produced by Ken Woodruff (Gotham) and is being billed as a “character-driven investigative thriller.”

Carpenter is currently filming the upcoming action-drama Dragged Across Concrete alongside Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn. In Dragged Across Concrete, a stolid, old guard policeman, Ridgeman (Gibson) and his volatile younger partner, Anthony (Vaughn), find themselves suspended when a video of their strong-arming tactics become the media’s special du jour. Low on cash and with no other options, these two embittered soldiers descend into the criminal underworld to gain their just due but instead find far more than they wanted awaiting them in the shadows. The movie is slated for release in 2018.
