Jim Carrey’s Pierre Pierre Back on Track

Screen Daily is reporting that the comedy Pierre Pierre, which would team comedian Jim Carrey with Borat director Larry Charles, is back on track thanks to the help of Mark Damon’s Foresight Unlimited, which has closed distribution deals in a number of international markets.

The plans are for the comedy, about a self-indulgent Frenchman who plans on stealing the Mona Lisa to get enough money to move out of his parent’s house, to start shooting in Europe, mostly Germany, over the summer.

Originally, the script for the comedy was purchased by 20th Century Fox for a million as a vehicle for director Jason Reitman with a budget of $20 million, but the budget has been increased to $30 million with the supporting cast now in talks, which may get the studio interested in getting back on board with the project.
