Legion Heads to Television

The world of Scott Stewart’s 2010 Legion is headed to the small screen as Deadline reports that a television series adaptation is being developed for Syfy.

The original film, written by Stewart and Peter Schink, starred Paul Bettany, Lucas Black, Kevin Durand, Tyrese Gibson, Adrianne Palicki, Dennis Quaid and Kate Walsh and told the apocalyptic tale of the fallen Archangel Michael (Bettany), who comes to Earth to warn of its impending destruction at the hands of angels.

“Sons of Anarchy” writer Vaun Wilmott is attached to draft the series, which will be produced by Sony Pictures TV.

Just prior to the first film’s release, it was revealed that Bettany and Palicki were signed on to star in sequels to the original film. With the series likely taking the place of any theatrical followup, it remains to be seen who might be joining the television cast.
