CS Video: Tom Hiddleston on War Horse

From playing the God of Mischief Loki in Marvel Studios’ Thor to author F. Scott Fitzgerald in Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris, this had already been quite a year for actor Tom Hiddleston.

In Steven Spielberg’s War Horse, Hiddleston plays the small but pivotal role of Captain Nicholls, the British cavalryman who buys a horse named Joey from the Irish lad who raised and trained him (Jeremy Irvine), riding him into the middle of World War I, an event that will have a significant impact on both horse and man.

Hiddleston may only be in the movie for roughly 15 minutes, but it’s another step in his prominent rise to stardom as more Americans become aware of this classically-trained British actor who has made the transition from stage to screen.

In this exclusive video interview, ComingSoon.net spoke with Hiddleston about:

* How he got his part in War Horse and how that bisected with Midnight in Paris

* Whether he had seen the play or read the book

* How the play differs from the film

* The preparation he did for those massive cavalry scenes

* His relationship with his horse

* Where he goes from having such a great year

* His return as Loki in The Avengers and Thor 2

War Horse opens on Christmas Day, December 25. You can still watch our interview with Spielberg here.
