Jason Keller to Draft The Passage

Jason Keller has come aboard to draft the upcoming adaptation of Jordan Ainsley’s The Passage, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter.

Set to be directed by Matt Reeves (Let Me In, Cloverfield), Ainsley’s (a pseudonym for author Justin Cronin) book tells of terminally ill patients who become healthy after they are bitten by bats in South America. The government conducts secret tests on human subjects to see if the virus can cure illness, but the result is an apocalyptic unleashing of bloodthirsty vampire test subjects that include death row inmates.

Scott Free is producing the adaptation, which was originally scripted by John Logan (prior to Reeves’ involvement).

Keller most recently provided the screenplay for the upcoming Machine Gun Preacher.
