UPDATE: Final figures showed that Hall Pass actually opened in first place with $13.5 million while Gnomeo & Juliet was in second with $13.4 million.

After opening in third place and then climbing to second in its second weekend, Touchstone Pictures’ Gnomeo & Juliet climbed to the top spot its third weekend with an estimated $14.2 million. The animated comedy enjoyed a drop of just 26% in ticket sales and has earned $75.1 million so far.

The Farrelly brothers comedy Hall Pass had to settle for second place with $13.4 million from 2,950 theaters, an average of $4,549 per theater. Starring Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis, Jenna Fischer and Christina Applegate, the New Line/Warner Bros. release cost about $35 million to make.

Last week’s champ, Warner Bros.’ Unknown dropped to third place and 43%, adding $12.4 million and bringing its total to $42.8 million after two weeks. The thriller, starring Liam Neeson, Diane Kruger and January Jones, was made for $30 million.

Fourth place belonged to Sony’s Just Go With It, which collected $11.1 million its third weekend and has earned $79.4 million. The romantic comedy is on track to become Adam Sandler’s 12th film to cross the $100 million mark domestically.

DreamWorks Pictures’ I Am Number Four rounded out the top five with $11 million and has reached $37.8 million after two weeks. The big screen adaptation carried a budget of about $50 million.

In its third weekend, Paramount swapped out Justin Bieber: Never Say Never with a “Director’s Fan Cut” which made $9.2 million in sixth place. The Jon Chu-directed film has grossed $62.8 million.

The King’s Speech is a movie title we expect you’ll be hearing a lot tonight at the Oscars, and its impressive run at the box office continued this weekend as the film kept its 7th spot with $7.6 million. That’s an increase in ticket sales of 17%. After 14 weeks in theaters, the drama has earned $114.5 million domestically.

The threequel Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son added $7.6 million in eighth place and has brought in $28.6 million after two weeks.

Also, Summit Entertainment’s Drive Angry 3D bombed at the box office in ninth place with just $5.1 million from 2,290 theaters, for an average of $2,241 per site. It is certainly signicant considering the higher 3D ticket prices and considering the movie cost about $50 million to make. The film was directed by Patrick Lussier and stars Nicolas Cage, William Fichtner, Amber Heard and Billy Burke.
