Fantasia 2015: Ju-On, Some Kind of Hate and New International Terrors

Heading into its 19th year, Montreal’s Fantasia International Film Festival is looking sprier than ever. The fest is currently in the midst of announcing its expectedly massive lineup, one that seems as undeniable and thrilling as ever. The three week-long festival is a madhouse of rowdy movies, rowdier audiences and often true gems and discoveries. This second wave includes Ojuju, a buzzed zombie film from Nigeria; Cherry Tree, an anticipated Irish horror from the folks behind Wake Wood and Let Us Prey; acclaimed festival films like creature feature The Hallow and dark drama Bridgend; the new Ju-on: The Final; supernatural slasher Some Kind of Hate; vicious anthology German Angst; Hostile, a French horror film from a 14 year-old filmmaker and so much more. It’s overwhelming, really.

The Fantasia International Film Festival runs this July 14 through August 4, 2015. It’s a stellar occasion. Shock Till You Drop is also a proud sponsor and judge of Tentsquare’s Fantasia Bumper Challenge, in which filmmakers submit 30 second bumpers which could very well play before the features up in Montreal.
