Drew Daywalt is Going to Tangle With a Leprechaun

An After Dark Originals production

After Dark Films is gearing up for a new slate of After Dark Originals and we have received word of a second title moving into production soon.

Drew Daywalt will direct Leprechaun (not a remake, I’ve heard this project is carrying another title).

The script was penned by Anthony Ferrante. He also scripted the After Dark Originals entry Scream of the Banshee.

Synopsis: Sixty-six years ago, the town of Irish Channel in Louisiana was the site of a horrible massacre on St. Patrick’s Day. Some blame a terrible storm that blew through the town, but those that were there don’t speak of the truth. Due to petty superstitions, St. Patrick’s Day festivities were banned for the last 66 years, but now, the new Mayor wants to tempt fate and celebrate.

Hmm, has an air of My Bloody Valentine about it (a town forbidden from celebrating a holiday).

Daywalt recently helmed Kart Driver for G4 and is attached to a redo of Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things.

After Dark is also in production on the supernatural thriller Dark Circles.
