Update: Lussier Confirmed for Halloween 3D

A word from the director…

Update: Lussier did in fact reach out to us to tonight to say he’s excited to be aboard. Shooting is expected to begin by the end of the year!

When we last caught up to producer Malek Akkad (here), he confirmed director Patrick Lussier was in the running for Halloween 3D, slated to hit next year. Lussier was on a list of potential directors, but his recent work on My Bloody Valentine 3D made him the ideal guy for the job.

Dread Central’s sources tell them this weekend that Lussier has officially signed up. And MBV3D screenwriter Todd Farmer is along for the ride.

Shock contacted Lussier via phone for a statement, we’re awaiting his reply, however, we suspect the director can’t talk too much about the deal at this time.

DC also says Halloween 3D is indeed the next gig on Lussier’s plate. That will be followed by the Nicolas Cage vehicle Drive Angry (announcement) for Nu Image/Millenium Films.
