TLA Acquires Jung Bros.’ Epitaph

Korean horror film to see release in late-’08

TLA Releasing has acquired, and will be releasing through its Danger After Dark label, the South Korean horror film Epitaph (Gidam) from the Jung Bros. – both of whom are making their feature debut with this chiller.

The film was released in South Korea last summer and grossed a healthy amount of cash during its run. It will play here in the States at the 17th annual Philadelphia Film Festival next month (details). Starring Kim Bo Kyung, Kim Tae Woo and Jin Goo, Epitaph‘s tale unfolds in 1942 in the Korean capital of Kyung Sun where a central hospital, its patients and employees are plagued by supernatural occurrences. The doctors there are forced into an investigation involving a series of brutal murders. A trailer lies below…

The Jung Brothers were honored with the New Director Award from the 2007 Pusan Film Critics Awards and received international accolades when it screened at the 2007 San Sebastian International Film Festival.

Epitaph is expected to hit DVD later this year.
