Lucas Till Boards Spectrum Movie

Lucas Till has signed on to headline director John Swetnam’s Spectrum movie, an original sci-fi thriller

Lucas Till (X-Men franchise, Monster Trucks) is set to headline director John Swetnam’s Spectrum movie, an original science fiction film. Swetnam, best known for scripting Into the Storm, will also produce the Spectrum movie through his Mad Horse Films alongside VFX producer Sean Cushing of Cantina Creative (The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy). Till himself will also produce with Tom Sullivan executive producing and Alexandru Celea overseeing for Mad Horse.

After inventing a technology that not only proves the existence of ghosts, but can actually see them, the Spectrum movie tells the chilling tale of a renowned scientist’s final experiment on a human test subject that goes horribly wrong. Decades later, when his son Connor (Till) and a group of colleagues discover the secret high-tech laboratory where the experiment took place, they find themselves battling a vengeful force like no other.

Cushing’s VFX powerhouse Cantina Creative will provide the film’s visual effects.

“I couldn’t be happier to be working with Lucas,” says Swetnam. “He conveys a real intelligence and intensity, while also being very likable, which makes him perfect for the role. I think when people see him in this project they’re going to be blown away.”

“Lucas Till’s star is very much on the rise after breaking out in the global fan favorite X-Men franchise,” adds 13 Films President Tannaz Anisi. “The role of Connor grants him a chance to shine even more brightly and reveal his very exceptional acting chops under the direction of the visually creative and high energy Swetnam.”

Production on the Spectrum movie will begin this September with 13 Films handling financing and international rights, actively selling the project to buyers in Cannes.
