Updates on Toy Story Land and Star Wars Experiences Coming to Disney Parks

The Walt Disney Company has made a number of new announcements regarding additions and enhancements to their domestic theme parks, including new Star Wars experiences, the Frozen ride, and more! Read on for more details.

First up is Toy Story Land, coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In Toy Story Land, you’ll find yourself in Andy’s backyard as a toy-sized guest along with the likes of Woody and Buzz. There are two new themed attractions being developed for Toy Story Land: Slinky Dog Dash, described as “a family coaster attraction where you zip, dodge and dash around many turns and drops that Andy has created to really make Slinky and his coils stretch to his limits”; and the Alien Swirling Saucers, featuring the series’ aliens “flying around in their toy flying saucers and trying to capture your rocket toy vehicle with ‘The Claw.’” You can check out a concept video of the Slinky Dog Dash below.

Moving on to a galaxy far, far away. A new fireworks show titled “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” will begin this June at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You can also check out a new piece of concept art for the forthcoming Star Wars Land below.

This June, the long-awaited update to the fan-favorite attraction Soarin’ will make its debut at Shanghai Disneyland as Soarin’ Over the Horizon on June 16. The next day, guests at Disney California Adventure and Epcot will be able to strap in for Soarin’ Around the World themselves and get a bird’s-eye view of the The Great Wall of China, the Sydney Harbor in Australia, and the Matterhorn in Switzerland.

Speaking of Epcot, the Frozen Ever After attraction is set to open in June which takes guests on a boat tour through the kingdom of Arendelle. The ride sees Queen Elsa embrace her magical powers and create a “Winter in Summer” event for the kingdom. The original voice cast of Frozen returned to record new dialogue and songs penned by composers Bobby and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. After disembarking, guests can top off their Frozen experience by meeting the royal sisters in their new Royal Sommerhus greeting location.

Finally, ahead of Finding Dory‘s debut in theaters on June 17, guests at Epcot will be able to find her themselves along with a few of her new friends Destiny the whale shark, Bailey the beluga whale and Hank the “septopus” (that’s a seven-legged octopus), at the park’s “Turtle Talk With Crush” attraction.
