Animated Ghostbusters Movie Finds Director

Animated Ghostbusters movie finds a director

Back in October, it was revealed that Sony Pictures was quietly developing an animated Ghostbusters movie. Now, The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the animated film has a director in Fletcher Moules. You may not know his name, but you’ve no doubt seen Moules’ work with the animated Clash of Clans commercials, which you can check out below.

Details are scarce on what the film will be about, but it’s a safe bet to say proton packs, ghouls, and New York City will probably play a factor. This won’t be the first time that the Ghostbusters will be animated either, with the animated series The Real Ghostbusters having aired from 1986 to 1991 and Extreme Ghostbusters in 1997.

The animated Ghostbusters film falls under the “Ghost Corps” banner, a venture created by Sony with director Ivan Reitman and Dan Aykroyd. Related to all things Ghostbusters, the branch of the studio seeks to create a whole “cinematic universe” of Ghostbusters films which will start this summer with director Paul Deig’s reboot this summer staring Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth.
