Watch: Tom Hardy Looks Great in New International Trailer for ‘Legend’

Considering we are just over two months away from seeing what Tom Hardy is able to do on screen as twin gangsters Reggie and Ron Kray in writer-director Brian Helgeland‘s latest project Legend, I’m a bit surprised we haven’t seen more from the film at this point in terms of trailers and clips and the like, but that changes a bit today as StudioCanal — which is distributing the film internationally — has just debuted a new trailer for what I hope is more than just a run-of-the-mill gangster tale.

Legend tells the true story of the rise and fall of the Kray twins, London’s most notorious gangsters, both of whom are portrayed by Hardy in the film. Co-starring Emily Browning, David Thewlis, Christopher Eccleston and Taron Egerton, it is described as a classic crime thriller taking us into the secret history of the 1960s and the extraordinary events that secured the infamy of the Kray twins.

If that synopsis and the bits I saw of this trailer are any indication, I think Legend could be quite good, and it is also worth noting that Helgeland previously wrote L.A. Confidential and A Knight’s Tale (which he also directed), two films I enjoy quite a bit. Also one of the YouTube comments on the trailer read, “This is going to be Kray Kray,” which I thought was pretty clever. But that’s neither here nor there, check out the trailer below and see what you think.
