Liam Neeson, as of late, is no stranger to hunting down people in movies, usually awkwardly running with a gun in his hand. I mean, good for Neeson for cashing checks and getting those last couple of years of physically being able to do action stuff. Well… almost physically being able to. Though he still finds time in his schedule to do dramas for Martin Scorsese like Silence, action is where he makes the doughnuts now.
So, it should not come as a surprise Neeson is in final negotiations to star in A Willing Patriot. He would play a CIA agent trying to capture a terrorist in a cat-and-mouse style action thriller. Danish filmmaker Martin Zandvliet (Applause) will helm the film. I have never seen one of his pictures, so I don’t really know what to make of that.
Not much more is known about the film at this point. This comes at the beginning of the multitude of casting announcements I am sure we will get during Cannes. So, look forward to those, if you care about casting announcements.
