DuVernay and Oyelowo Reteaming On Hurricane Katrina Feature

If anything, I guess the Oscar snubbing of Selma director Ava DuVernay and star David Oyelowo at least brings some additional attention to the film and the work put into it, which may help with their future features, one of which will be a reteaming.

Variety reports DuVernay and Oyelowo will reunite for a feature film chronicling a love story and murder mystery during the time of Hurricane Katrina. DuVernay, who will write and direct, told the trade, “The story we’re interested in will explore the complexities of intimate relationships within times of chaos, while also examining the chaos itself. I’m looking forward to the journey.”

There’s no additional information when it comes to plot or just how far along DuVernay is with the script considering a start date has not been set. Participant Media will produce the pic along with DuVernay and Oyelowo.
