‘Point Break’ Remake Dated, Efron Rumored for Marvel Role & Greenwald’s Snowden Book Optioned

Speaking of August 2015 releases, Warner Bros. has set an August 7, 2015 release for their Point Break remake as Edgar Ramirez has signed on to replace Gerard Butler as Bodhi, the role originally played by Patrick Swayze in the 1991 original. The remake will follow a similar premise as the first as an FBI agent (Luke Bracey) goes undercover to catch a gang of bank robbers, though instead of being predominantly surfers, this time around they’ll be into extreme sports.

Finally, Zac Efron (Neighbors) was previously among those rumored for Star Wars: Episode VII and while that didn’t come to fruition he is now being rumored for a role in an upcoming Marvel film. Which film? No one knows, but apparently he was handed a script leading to speculation it could be one of the upcoming Netflix series including “Daredevil” or any number of the studio’s upcoming features.
