It seems we are getting very close to learning who will be starring in J.J. Abrams‘ Star Wars: Episode VII, but don’t worry, there are still more franchises left to speculate casting. One such franchise is the upcoming Bond 24, which will see Sam Mendes returning to direct, Daniel Craig returning as 007 and Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw all back for more. But who will play the film’s villain?
According to The Wrap, Chiwetel Ejiofor has emerged as the frontrunner to play the film’s villain. The site is sure to note an offer has not been made and neither have formal talks, but multiple sources have told them he is at the top of their list.
Before this, Ejiofor, like his 12 Years a Slave co-star Lupita Nyong’o, were rumored to be up for roles in the next Star Wars and this news might suggest Abrams and crew went a different direction when it comes to Ejiofor’s involvement.
As for Bond 24, production is set to begin this fall for a November 6, 2015 release, continuing the story from Skyfall and likely to gross a billion or more once again.
